The tyrol skiing region Galtür gained sad notoriety as it was afflicted by an avalanche on February 23 1999 that caused 31 deaths. This documentary traces minute by minute the order of events using extensive archived materials. 45 year old Christa K. from Ratingen for example was 1999 in Galtür for the 20th time. She was standing only one meter next to her husband as they were affected by the avalanche. She could survive for three hours under a one and a half meter snow cover thanks to an air bubble until she was found. Her husband was carried away by the avalanche for 50 meters and died immediately.
