Does emigration make you happy?
The 90min. long 4th part of the ‘Grandma’ series (so far: Grandma wants to go to Thailand, Grandma stays in Thailand, Grandma lives in Thailand): How have the two of them fared since then? Their assessment is very mixed. Josefine says: ‘I saw too much through rose-coloured glasses.’
Stefan and his wife Alex have also made a radical decision: they want to emigrate to Thailand. It’s not just the dream of beaches and palm trees that drives them. Both are in poor health and hope to be able to recover permanently under the southern sun. Leaving home, family and friends behind in Germany is a difficult step. Stefan’s mother (87) will also be coming with them.
Gerhard Hund also wants to go to Thailand. His partner Rung is from there. He wants to live with her in the future and spend the rest of his life in Thailand. A leap into a new culture. Thanks to Rung, a leap into an extended Thai family.
